Cannabidiol is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis – however it does not appear to have any intoxicating effects such as those caused by tetrahydrocannabinol in marijuana. Cannabidiol has been proposed as treatments for a range of diseases and Cannabidiol has been successfully studied in numerous late stage clinical trials to treat epilepsy, pain and arthritis amongst other indications.
Now the anti inflammatory properties of cannabidoil are also thought to play a beneficial role in treating skin disorders such as acne and psoriasis. There is significant scientific support for the drug’s mechanism of action in a range of serious skin diseases.
With this in mind, there are a number of clinical trials involving cannabidoil. As with all clinical trials, the results if proven effective may bring a significant new option for people suffering from a range of inflamatory skin conditions.
